Organic Traffic Growth

Jan 2024 — Nov 2024 · Organic traffic growth · Data from Ahrefs
Objective
What we set out to achieve
Uniqode is an enterprise QR code platform — dynamic QR codes, digital business cards, contactless solutions, all with tracking and analytics baked in. They needed to rank for the keywords that drive enterprise deals: “QR code generator,” “dynamic QR codes,” “digital business cards.” The kind of search terms that marketing managers and operations leads type in when they're evaluating vendors.
Starting Point
Where Uniqode started
January 2024: about 30,000 monthly organic visitors, DR 78. Solid numbers on paper. But the QR code generator market is stacked — QR Tiger, Flowcode, and Bitly all sit above DR 80 with backlink profiles built over many more years. Uniqode barely showed up in the category listicles that drive enterprise buyer traffic, and the organic growth had started to plateau. They needed a push to get past that ceiling.
Our Approach
A four-pronged link building strategy
Four link types, one goal. We spread the campaign across branded links, listicle placements, guest posts, and editorial insertions to cover the QR code and marketing technology space from multiple angles.
Branded Homepage Links
We got branded backlinks pointing to Uniqode's homepage and product pages from SaaS, marketing, and business technology sites. These homepage links are what keep the domain authority growing month over month, and they gave Google a clear signal that Uniqode is a real brand in the QR code space.
Listicle Placements
We got Uniqode into high-ranking "best QR code generators" and "best digital business card tools" roundups. Being featured next to QR Tiger, Flowcode, and Bitly on these lists brought in referral clicks and sent a strong category signal to Google.
Guest Posts on Industry Publications
We placed guest posts on marketing and technology publications, covering topics like contactless marketing and QR codes in retail. Each post linked back to Uniqode's product and resource pages, and the readers were people already thinking about QR code solutions for their business.
Editorial Link Insertions
We found existing articles about QR code marketing and contactless technology that were already ranking well, then got Uniqode mentioned inside them. No new content needed on the publisher's end — just a relevant addition to what was already there.
Challenges
Obstacles we overcame
Crowded QR Code Generator Market
QR Tiger, Flowcode, Bitly, QR Code Generator Pro — all with big backlink profiles built over years. Most "best QR code generator" listicles were locked up by these legacy tools. To get Uniqode added, we had to pitch the enterprise-grade differentiators: GPS tracking, bulk generation, analytics dashboards. Features the legacy tools didn't have.
Scaling Authority at DR 78
DR 78 sounds great until you try to move it higher. Each point above 75 takes more effort than the last — you need links from domains with even higher authority than what got you there. We had to target DR 70+ publications and top technology sites specifically, because anything below that wouldn't move the needle.

Jan 2024 — Nov 2024 · Organic traffic growth · Data from Ahrefs
Multi-Channel Link Strategy Compounds Faster
Using four different link types instead of one gave us a backlink profile that looked natural and covered more ground. Guest posts built subject-matter credibility, listicles got Uniqode into category conversations, branded links pushed DR, and editorial insertions added contextual links on pages already getting traffic.
Listicle Visibility Creates a Flywheel Effect
After Uniqode showed up in 5 or 6 top-ranking "best QR code generator" lists, editors at other sites started adding it on their own. We didn't have to pitch as hard — Uniqode had become a name they expected to include in any QR code roundup.
1,500 New Referring Domains in 11 Months
Over 11 months, Uniqode's referring domains went from 3,610 to 5,108. That's roughly 136 new referring domains per month, and the organic traffic curve tracked right alongside it. Steady link building, steady growth — no spikes, no dips.
