Reddit Best Time to Post Checker
Pick your subreddit and time zone. Built on 2,999,442 posts and comments across 12 SaaS and developer subreddits.
Post it on
Tuesday, 2pm to 5pm
Strongest single hour: 3pm in UTC. That window ran 40.5% above average for posts in r/SaaS, using the dataset-wide window.
Block the two hours after you post. Comments were 87.4% of all activity in the dataset, so a post nobody follows up on wastes the window it landed in.
r/SaaS was in the dataset but Syften did not publish a separate window for it, so this uses the overall 14:00 to 17:00 UTC peak. r/startups and r/homelab have their own measured windows.
Where These Numbers Come From
Every window in this tool comes from Syften's analysis of 2,999,442 Reddit posts and comments across 12 subreddits, run between 16 November 2025 and 26 May 2026 in UTC. The best three-hour window was 14:00 to 17:00 UTC at 37% above average, with 15:00 UTC the strongest single hour. Tuesday led for posts and Wednesday for comments.
Two subreddits had their own published windows: r/startups at 16:00 to 19:00 UTC and r/homelab at 17:00 to 20:00 UTC. The other ten were in the dataset without a separate breakdown, so the tool falls back to the overall window and says so rather than inventing a figure.
Why Timing Only Half Matters
A Reddit post runs on two clocks. The upvote clock lasts about two hours and timing moves it a lot. The citation clock runs for years and timing barely touches it: Semrush found 80% of Reddit posts cited by AI search have fewer than 20 upvotes, and our own tracking of 6,132 AI answers found the most-quoted threads were months-old vendor-selection questions rather than well-timed launches.
That split is why the tool asks what you're posting. Read the full breakdown in our guide to the best time to post on Reddit, or see which Reddit threads ChatGPT cites for the citation side.
